I’m Justin Johnson and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Phoenix City Council.
Some of you know me, but for those that don’t, I’m a husband and proud father of three children. I’m a contractor and homebuilder. I’ve been a coach and mentor to kids at the Christown and Maryvale YMCA, an advocate for the homeless, and volunteered hundreds of hours for the city I love. I’ve worked on job sites scrapping houses in the hot Phoenix summers as a kid and built homes for working families in my profession. My entire life has been focused on hard work and giving back to my community.
There are big issues facing District 5: reducing crime, increasing educational opportunities, keeping and creating new jobs and economic development, and most importantly, investing in our district’s greatest asset: its residents. And to tackle these issues, we need a new way to approach them. My experience as a home builder, active community member, and businessman has given me a unique perspective on what it takes to drive investment and what the city can do to help communities thrive. I’m going to build a collaborative approach that brings the community, private sector, and city government together to work in partnership and move District 5 forward.
I think we all agree that every resident of this district deserves the same opportunities and quality of life as the residents that live in Downtown Phoenix, Arcadia or any other part of our city. Good jobs, great schools, and safe neighborhoods shouldn’t be something a resident of District 5 dreams about – it should be a reality. Together, we can build a better Phoenix.
It’s time to bring renewed focus, investment, and commitment to District 5.
And my goal is to work hard and prove to you every single day, that I am the best candidate to do just that!
I look forward to our journey together on the road to the March 12th, 2019 election. To follow the campaign, like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, and to join our movement, submit your info to our website at www.johnsonforphoenix.com.
